KABIRU SOKOTO, ALLEGED MASTERMIND OF THE CHRISTMAS DAY BOMB BLAST

SAN FRANCISCO, January 19, (THEWILL) – An under fire Inspector General of Police, Alhaji Hafiz Ringim today placed a N50 million bounty on the head of Kabiru Sokoto, an alleged Boko Haram sect member that masterminded the Christmas Day bomb blast of a Catholic Church in Madalla, near Abuja.

A statement from the police announcing the cash reward offer for any use information leading to the re-arrest of the suspect said, Kabiru speaks English, Arabic and Hausa fluently.

The Police also released what resembled a recent photograph of the fleeing terrorist.

"The Police High Command has declared Kabiru Umar (a.k.a. Kabiru Sokoto) wanted in connection with cases of bombing and terrorism across the northern states of the Federation, especially the Christmas-Day bombing of a Church at Madalla.

"He is aged 28 years, fair in complexion and speaks English, Hausa and Arabic languages fluently," the Police statement said.

Recall that the suspect escaped from police custody on Monday while being taken to conduct a search at his residence thus fueling fears that both senior and junior police officers belonging to the Boko Haram plotted his escape.
