When you say kudos to the police, what do you mean? They did nothing! The poor girl escaped by herself and police were only informed! If they would do even a little investigative work, they could have found this poor girl before she went through this unthinkable trauma, instead of setting up road blocks 100m apart to harass innocent motorists for N20 bribes! Iri lured the poor girl, who was her friend.

If the police had done a little investigating, they should have been able to uncover that the last person she had contact with was Iri and start a manhunt for her. I think the police are terribly inept and should be completely overhauled. For them to even try to take credit for this is shameful. IGP Ogbonnaya Onovo needs to get his act together and start to reform the police force.

First step towards that is to stop all road blocks and empower investigative police work. Train more detectives and each police department should know in depth the criminal activities under their jurisdiction. When crimes like these occur, there should be usual suspects who can be squeezed for information to help them in investigating successfully. This is being done in other countries... we need to borrow a leaf from them and start getting serious!
