JONATHAN 2011: OKOGIE HAS ADDED VOICE OF WISDOM
Editor, JONATHAN 2011: OKOGIE HAS ADDED VOICE OF WISDOM As sycophants are having their way; many other clerics – Christians and Moslems – have continued to advise President Goodluck Jonathan to ignore those urging him to contest the 2011. In the Sunday Vanguard newspaper of August 22, 2010, the Catholic Archbishop of Metropolitan See of Lagos, Cardinal Anthony Okogie, gave good counsel by calling on President Goodluck Jonathan not to contest the 2011 presidential election. Cardinal Okogie who is also a south-southerner and a highly respected clergy reasoned the same way Primate Olabayo of Evangelical Church of Yaweh did. T.B. Joshua has also advised similarly. These men of God in delivering their respective divine messages went almost the same pattern and asked Jonathan to concentrate in providing one or two important needs to Nigerians instead of saddling himself with the burden of contesting in the forthcoming Presidential election. If he succeeds in adhering to the good counsels, two of the men of God were unanimous in revealing; that Jonathan will be called upon in the near future to contest (then) and would win popularly the election as President. One believes that those counsels are in the right direction and would do Jonathan all the good and nothing bad. This question of it is ‘our divine turn’ seems to be wrongly perceived. Nigeria is for all and if this turn-by-turn is what would be guiding us each time, then only one thing could be said to be in our minds: "It is our turn to corner our portion of the national cake" - meaning time for us to corruptly enrich someone from our own side and not necessarily someone ready to render service to the nation. We should all pray against the Brooklyn Institution’s analysis that by 2015 there would not be a country called Nigeria any more. The Brooklyn Institution predicted the situation with Russia, Somalia, Yugoslavia, Tsunami, etc and they were dead-right on the predications.
